My new place is surrounded by cheap and rubbish take aways. One of the more memorable ones is called Lick'n Chick'n, but not for the food. For a take-away to get anywhere around here, it seems to need a gimmick. In this case, it's a running theme with the meal names. But with this one, I just can't believe that this is accidental. I can't imagine anyone ever thinking it a good idea for a name. Just thought I'd share it.
No doubt Peter. I just like the image of a group of executives sitting around a boardroom table looking pensive, then one jumping to his feet and saying "I know, we'll call it the Lick'n Kiddies Meal" and the rest of them just staring at him with admiration.
I'm thinking it went more along the lines of "What's that thing that MacDonald's does? Oh, yeah, Happy Meals - yeah, let's do that!" "You can't do that, it's trademarked." "Oh. Call it Kiddie's Meals or something, then." And then some drone in the labelling department tacking on the Lick'n without think'n.
You'd think they'd be careful of such things, considering the trapfalls of the chicken industry with a name like Lick'n. What with thighs, legs, and breasts lying around everywhere.
