In a bid for tourism for the lake district, a rap video has been made interpreting (which is the least offensive word I can think of) William Wordsworth's classic poem. It features a rapping squirrel called MC Nuts and if that isn't quite enticing enough. He looks like some kind of deer-kangaroo hybrid. If you want to take the easy way out, here is the YouTube video for it (although it's worth using the link just so you can see it on an actual tourism website).
The story isn't as interesting as the headline suggests, but to match the headline, it would need to be an absolutely amazing story. Unicorns would probably be involved.
In the middle of applying for vacation scheme placements for the summer, it was quite nice to find this distracting little mental test. I did pretty badly the first time, but I attribute part of that to being frazzled by the sheer number of forms I'd been filling out.
The Perry Bible Fellowship comic strip is by a long way my favourite notnotmarkflynn series of cartoons. I've included just a few of my favourites below. It's updated every wednesday and well worth checking out. I'd include more, but it would take me far too long to link all the ones that make me laugh.
Looks like some people have been playing a "Caption Me" game of their own with the U.S. anti-terrorism warning signs. This is the U.S. government site that actually uses some of these images. Check out the second picture on this page. I like some of the serious suggestions more than the jokes.
This is another game to help waste time, where the aim is to type out the alphabet in as short a time as possible. The best I've managed so far is 2.994 seconds and that almost broke my hands. It claims that the record is 2.2 but I'm not angry enough with my fingers to try and break it.
On a side not, should anyone here in the future become particularly angry in my particular direction, please remember who was nice enough to give you this link before you use it.
The exploits of one man who collects gnomes so as to efficiently and gruesomely put them to death. With gnomes like this around, I can't say I blame him. Take care Gnomethang.
This is a game that I stumbled across a while ago. Fair way to waste a few minutes if you're bored. It's very much worth turning the music off though, it pains the ears.
Somewhat depressingly, I appear to be unable to recognise good song lyrics. I was on Halfbakery today when I read [Zimmy]'s parody on the Danger Bunny idea. I was trying to find the original song and I came across this. I really liked it, both from the writing style (although having never read the Lewis Carroll books, I'm not sure how original much of it is) and for the picture of the person with screaming mouths for eyes (Which is now my MSN Messenger display picture, purely on the basis that it repulsed me a little)
This is my latest addiction. As opposed to most of my others, it has actually been slightly benefitial, in that it has definitely improved my typing speed and accuracy of touch typing. I can get off the map comfortably on hard, and progress until the really awkward sharks turn up on expert. X-treme mode still kicks my ass though.
It will translate your name into something considerably more robot-y. There's also a monster one and a sexy name one, but they were considerably less robot.
Here are mine:
